Material Center (Material In focus: LDERZLUX )
In material center, every week we will post a certain material to be infoucs with its history, background, features, specificiations, types, applications, and engineers viewpoint regarding such material. |
LDERZLUX
-
LDERZLUX is a gypsum-based joint compound which is used at plasterboard joints over glass fiber tape as a filling and surface smoothing material.
-
Besides plasterboard joints, it is also used to cover screw heads, to apply corner beads and corner tapes and to partially repair - plasterboard surfaces.
-
It is a product having special grain sized fillers reinforced with chemicals, which has high bonding strength. I The crack risk at plasterboard joints is minimized due to its flexibility.
-
1 DERZLUX ensures that the plasterboard surfaces behave monolithically. is a non-combustible structural material of class A1 according to uropean Standards.

Applications
-
The application surface should be free of materials like dust, dirt. oil and paint. Surfaces that are exposed to direct sunshine and wind should be wetted before application.
-
DERZLUX is put into cold and clean water in a clean container until it covers the water surface. After waiting for a few minutes, the mortar is mixed with a low-speed mixer or a trowel until a homogenous and lump-free consistency is obtained.
-
The mortar that is ready-to-use, can be used for approximately 80 minutes. Before starting the double-phased application, pre-filling should be done to spaces greater than 3 mm and glass fiber joint tape is adhered by centering plasterboard joints.
-
In the first stage, DERZLUX mortar is applied on glass fiber joint tape with a steel spatula. After waiting for the setting of the first layer, the residues on the surface should be scraped off with a steel spatula.
-
The second layer of DERZLUX mortar in a width of approximately 20 cm, should be applied with a steel trowel as aligned with plasterboard surfaces.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
-
Temperature should be minimum +5"C for application.
-
Do not add any material (sand, cement, lime etc.) into DERZLUX mortar.
-
Do not add any water or plaster to the DERZLUX mortar after mixing.
